Furniture Friday: Ambient Lounge

As a major fan

of bean bags, I have to say I was super excited when I stumbled upon Ambient Lounge‘s profile on Twitter – this Australian company is doing so much more than simply releasing a fancy line of bean bag products – they are revolutionizing the bean bag!

Ambient Lounge’s bean bags are not what you think – they do not resemble frumpy blobs of furniture that have to stay hidden in the depths of unfinished basement rec rooms. They are fabric sofas. They add an urban “chilled out” vibe to any space, and really…who DOESN’T love slouching into a bean bag?

Fabric Sofas go so much further than the bean bag ever could (geez, this post really reads like a commercial campaign!). Ambient Lounge has been recognized for their sophisticated fabric sofa designs that have all the same qualities as a bean bag chair (the comfort of soft-style filling and curvaceous forms) that combine premium weave fabrics reminiscent of high-end furniture. In other words, all the goodness of bean-bag fun, minus the fugliness!

There are many collections and lots of interesting fabric choices. Here’s a peek at some of my favourites: (perfect for family rooms, college dorms, home theatres, kids rooms…)

Evolution Sofa - Eco Weave fabric

Evolution Sofa - Limited Edition Blue Elegance fabric

Evolution Sofa & Ottoman - Luscious Grey fabric

Acoustic Sofa - Eco weave fabric

Fiorenze Genuine Leather Sofa - Santorini White

Fiorenze Genuine Leather Sofa - Hellfire Red Leather

Fiorenze Genuine Leather Sofa - Embassy Black

Butterfly Sofa - Wildberry fabric

Twin Couch Double Seater Sofa - Hot Chocolate fabric

Rome Sofa - Royal Black fabric

But wait…there’s more! Ambient Lounge also sells bean bags (Fabric Sofas!) that can be used outdoors. The outdoor collection is appropriately titled ELEMENTS :)  I think these pieces look great poolside…and how cool would they be on a rooftop patio? Sunset in a bean bag chair? Yes, please! This company is based in Australia, but has many locations all over the globe. Click HERE to see a list of locations.

Three cheers for Ambient Lounge!

I think this is a great company with plenty of fabulous pieces that I will undoubtedly be including in my home one day (funding still pending…). I like the selection of fabrics, I LOVE the idea of outdoor fabric sofas, and I think Ambient Lounge has provided a chic way of introducing a little bit of fun and comfort to a space.
